HOW TO INCREASE YOUR HOME’S VALUE

Cleaning

Professional cleaners can cost anywhere from $200 to $250 depending on the house and what you need done. To save money, you can always do some of this yourself. Decluttering and cleaning your home offers a fresh perspective for potential buyers. It also allows them to see everything without having to move items out of the way or “see past” the clutter.

Fresh coat of paint

Painting your home prior to listing is an easy way to spruce it up without breaking the bank. Start by getting rid of any wild or uniquely colored rooms and switch to a more neutral or modern shade. This gives the buyer a chance to consider how they could personalize the home in colors they prefer and allows the architectural features, natural lighting, or spaciousness to be the focus instead.

Curb appeal

Is your grass overgrown? Maybe you have cobwebs on the windows or messy gutters? A quick mow, power wash, and exterior cleaning always helps the buyer get a fresh look and a positive first impression of your house before stepping foot inside.

Kitchen & bath

If you want to go above and beyond, updating your kitchen and bathroom is the way to go! Unless you're an experienced builder or plumber, we suggest hiring someone to do the job. It’s not worth the stress to do it yourself and the end result will get you more money in the long run.

Staging

If your home is vacant or you have a bland-looking room, staging your house is a great way to increase value! According to realtor.com, staged homes sell 88% faster and for 20% more money than non-staged homes.

Many of these things you could do yourself but if you are looking to hire a professional, please take a look at our list of trusted contractors to help with any home project. Keep in mind, we don’t take any referral fees and only put them on our list for the quality and value they bring to every client.
